MISSING

Missing
Digital Camera
Answers to Camille.
Last seen taking photos of a mask I'm working on.
Probably buried somewhere in the apartment, but hell if I know where.
I mean, come on, the place just isn't that big, where could she have gone? I wonder if I put her someplace 'sensible' for 'safe keeping' and can't remember where.
I've been doing that sort of thing of late.
That, or the cat stole her. The cat thinks I already spend way too much time not petting the cat, and she has thumbs on all four paws, so I'm not ruling her out as a suspect.
But that's neither here nor there.
No reward offered at this time. Camille was great and all, but we had a good run.
I think I'm just going to buy a new one. Anyone got recommendations? Really fancy would probably be wasted on me, but all advice is welcome.

I have a Panasonic Lumix that I love. Takes great pictures and movies also.

As you may recall, I know a thing or two about cameras, and I would be happy to do some research and make recommendations.

If I may be so bold, I think you'd do best with a camera that's relatively simple in its functioning, yes? And size and quality tend to be a tradeoff, at least in a broad sense, so which is your main concern? I gather we're talking "point-and-shoot" type, but does it have to be small enough to fit in a pocket, or would a belt case or wrist strap be good enough? Let me know, and I'll get to work! :-)

Sony and Panasonic get high ratings on CNET.

I like my Kodak products; mostly because of the "Easy Share" software. It is....well....easy to use!

Can't say I've ever named my cameras before.....my first car was "Fenry Honda;" a lovely sea green 1981 Honda Civic wagon with five-speed transmission, no air, no power steering....man I miss that car!

Need to get that memory-loss checked out, my friend. Either that or hire a cute, young butler;-)

Maybe if you listen carefully some quiet night, you'll hear her faintly coughing...

I'm not up on the compact world, so I don't know where to point you, and it looks like Jess is on it. All the major brands make decent cams now.

Have you ever watched the USA network show "Monk"? He does this things with his hands, tilts his head just so, when he's scoping out a crime scene. I do something similar (and did before Monk came around, so he totally stole it from me) when I'm looking for something. I think it involves listening for that faint cough.

My sure-fire trick for finding a lost something is to completely forget that I'm looking for it, and look for something else. Often I don't find the thing I say I'm looking for, but will frequently come across that other thing I looked for previously. Really, it's all about deception. Maybe you're deceiving the camera, maybe she's deceiving you. It's your call.

Poor Camille. I've been worrying about her. I'm sure as soon as you buy a new one she'll reappear.

My Canon FE310's been quite lovely to me (except for when I erased the settings wheel with bug spray), and got it for under $150 more than a year ago.

Good luck!

Correction: it's an OLympus FE310. Duh.

The day you buy another, Camille will turn up. Happens every time.
